“Lovely house super close to the beach”

★★★★

“Lovely cottage in a good location near the beach five minutes away, with lots of great places to visit near by. We especially enjoyed the Romney, Hythe, and Dymchurch railway, the dogs enjoyed the journey and the stop off at Dymchurch as we visited the beach there…”

Camber Sands, honestly told

The only sand dune system in East Sussex, and mile upon mile of proper golden sand, a rarity on this mostly shingle coast. At low tide the sea retreats a very long way and leaves warm, shallow lagoons. At high water the dunes feel wild and windswept. RNLI lifeguards patrol the central beach from early May to late September, and dogs are welcome all year round with sensible summer zoning.

  • Time your beach day by the tide. Low water means miles of firm sand
  • Dedicated kitesurfing zone at the eastern end, three licensed schools, surf and paddleboard hire in the village
  • Toilets, a Welcome Centre with Changing Places facility, and three council car parks
